WHO ARE YOUR INFLUENCES?

we cant’ avoid them, they leave an imprint, but we can ignore some of them!

We can be ‘who we are’ without apology or ‘who we strive to be.’

We’ll make apology-worthy mistakes at every turn, always some new slip-ups and misjudgments rather than repeating bad habits we picked up along our journey. Not all for naught — because so many little things can be substantial. And huge problems can just so quickly become new pathways to tremendous opportunities.

But more incalculable than purging powerful influencers/memories from — learning and following that example or running far and fast to escape/forget their influence. I have teachers and family members too, and I wish I had listened more or better.

I have a former employer and a mother who instilled things I’m still trying to shake …

Some things in life are hard to remember.

So many more are impossible to forget.

When I look back, with a smile or grimace, it’s usually about something pivotal — for pain or gain — indelibly etched in my brain.

Some for good.

Some I only wish I could erase …
