DRAFTY IN HERE
shouting at the wind …
We wrestle with what ought not to be said, thoughts we cannot voice, yet we spill them anyway. We know where the boundaries are, and we cross them. Manifesting physically and mentally, they fester, they explode, they await revelation, and they crave to be exposed.
Proposals we need to tweak, tomorrow’s column, our to-do list, that honey-do list, the first book and next novel — each rehearsal, the going-over and going-over in our minds of what needs to be said, they beg to be forgotten — cannot be yet voiced.
Our internal drivers are disconnected from advice and sound judgement because our rage, passion, and causes cannot be silenced.
Everything is a DRAFT until it isn’t. Then we hit send, click print, delete or repeat. We stand on the internet’s street corner shouting or whispering into the night.
